How do we know what they know?

(Using materials you already have to know your learners better.)

 at Boone Meadow Elementary  

  • Parking is front and back (enter doors 1 or 7)
  • Registration - 8:00am to 8:30am in the cafe.  
  • Session 1 - 8:30am to 11:30am 
  • Lunch is provided - Qdoba 11:30am to 12:30pm
  • Session 2 - 12:30pm to 3:30pm.

Please review the sessions below and decide which you would like to attend. You will need to choose one for the morning and one for the afternoon. Once you have decided please make sure to take the survey at the bottom of this post. Thank you!

Math Fact Fluency—Featuring Courtney Flessner from Butler University: Courtney will demonstrate ways to use math fact charts to learn more about your students as mathematicians.

F&P Assessments/Running Records - SGE principal, Connie Largent, and the Literacy Coaches will provide opportunities for teachers to practice using running records to know more about your students as readers.

Using New NWEA Reports – a representative from NWEA will be showing teachers how to use the new NWEA reports to better understand students’ starting points and what to target next. (Counselors are encouraged to attend this morning session).

Writers Workshop - (session A: grades 1 & 2, session B: grades 3 & 4): Join master Zionsville teachers as they share strategies for conferring and how you can learn more about your students as writers.

Kindergarten Learners(AM only)Jennifer Wheat Townsend, Director of Learning for Noblesville Schools, will join us for a half day session specifically tailored to kindergarten teachers. Learn more about how you can help primary students develop deeper writing by giving them thoughtful feedback with purpose and intent.

Canvas Assessments- Join Kyle to learn how the multimedia features in Canvas can be used to assess students.  Kyle will work with teachers to create assessments that give teachers a picture of what students are able to do, while freeing instructional time in class. (Special area teachers are encouraged to attend this morning session.)
